The whole “reality isn’t real” thing is exactly why Donald Trump got elected. When reality and facts weren’t convenient, white men did what they’ve always done and created their own alternative facts and version of reality to sell to the public, and we all know how the public just loves a good old fashioned misogynist witch hunt.
There’s also plenty of evidence to suggest that Russians hacked US voting systems, infiltrated activist groups, financially supported white separatist movements, and used social media to proliferate divisive propaganda for the purposes of putting their sock puppet in office. They succeeded largely because people are already primed by religion to reject reality and accept even the dumbest of conspiracy theories (like dinosaur bones were put in the Earth by Satan to sway people from believing in god). Most people would rather entertain gaslighting lies and horseshit than accept facts that make them uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, this video shows that the male privilege of denying reality and making up facts isn’t limited to religion, but can also be done with a sciency intellectual veneer of truthiness.
You know all those witches that were burned, and all those black men that were lynched? They never really existed, they’re just a digital SIMULATION of actual humanity. No real people were harmed in the making of this Patriarchy, says sciency white males who sit around thinking their thoughts while women continue to live in the REAL WORLD where laundry has to be done, food has to be cooked, and dishes have to be done.

As a scientist, I remind everyone that what matters is that real science is evidence based. Obviously, any of us can make up hypotheticals and “what ifs.” Scientific standards are the same worldwide.
I don’t understand what this video claims to prove about the USA or Americans — or is it Arb making some sort of claim? Nothing (good or bad) happens in the USA that doesn’t happen in Canada. There’s no point in trying to negatively stereotype Americans, 330,000,000+ people of varying qualities.
Obviously, America leads the world in innovation, and many excellent scientists, engineers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, etc call America home. Light bulbs, flush toilets, automobiles, airplanes, TVs, microwave ovens, refrigerators and most appliances, much computer-related innovation, many life-saving medicines and vaccinations — all American inventions, among millions more. America put the 1st man on the moon. America has the most success in the Olympics, the most billionaires, the most Nobel prize winners. One American alone has more Olympic medals than the bottom 189 countries do. (American Michael Phelps, swimmer, 28 Olympic medals: 24 gold, 4 silver.) The USA has an economy twice the size of the entire EU and 12+ times larger than Canada’s. Out of 896 Nobel Prizes awarded, Americans had 368 bestowed upon them. Americans are only 4.5% of the world population! America also has the world’s largest military and more nukes than the rest of the world combined. Additionally, Americans excel in the arts, including music, and dance, and they’re too numerous to name. No country on Earth is as successful as the USA, and Americans make it successful.
Conversely, out of 330,000,000+ people, some Americans will be gullible morons, or horrific humans, but Canada has village idiots and serial killers too. Perhaps Canadians would be best served concentrating on their own problems and raising their own standards.
To me, this video proves nothing except that classes teaching the scientific method should be prerequisites for graduation for primary, high schools, and university students worldwide.

@Arb, and ask yourself who has dominated philosophical discourse for thousands of years? Men. Men have been afforded the luxury of sitting around pondering this kind of asinine crap while women are stuck doing the shit work in a society that hates us. Women live, work, breathe, struggle and suffer within the confines of an oppressive reality every day. The same can be said for minorities, immigrants, and indigenous peoples or anyone else that shoulders the costs of institutional oppression and are being told that their experiences and suffering are just a matter of opinion.
You think it’s an interesting question, but I think it’s more akin to gnosticism (google gnosticjesus dot com to see what I’m talking about). The guy in the video admitted that even if it were true, it wouldn’t change a goddamn thing about our lives. So what is the point at all, unless he wants to plant a seed of doubt that nothing matters? If nothing matters, then there’s no reason to care what happens to people or hold anyone accountable for what they do. If you follow this question to it’s most logical conclusion, it supports male power and the status quo. The whole reason we have the problem of religion is because men decided that reality and facts are debatable. That is what this video does. You see this as philosophical, I see it as re-packaged spiritualism with an intellectual bow on top.
