Having been born in the 1940s, I believe I have been infected by the music of the period. I still love swing music and have a number of the Andrews Sisters recordings on hand. Is this an aspect of immortality … to be able to be heard and read long after one is dead?

I, too, love the music of this era. Hubby and I have taken dance lessons over the years and that music is our favourite with which to practise our steps. About the tune featured today – that was a delightful interlude, Arb!

I wonder why the producers of the recording made the trumpet’s harmon mute so loud? It’s not in real life, which is why it’s used in this song as a background semi-Caribbean playmate for the melody. Some people’s kids…
