Articles like this highlight the systemic, societal based normative attitudes that we are bathed in. Male violence is looked on in a sympathetic light and the narratives spun around them serve as a justification for their actions.
Lying in wait with a shotgun under your family’s car and then dispatching your wife and daughter with a shotgun is not a fucking act to by sympathized with. This sort of violence and abuse is the hidden backdrop of our society and needs to brought to light in a most unsympathetic and biased toward the victim way. Laying low at the root of situations like these is the male patterned socialization that states that using violence is an acceptable way to solve problems – coupled with the notion that women somehow are property and less than human leads directly to shit like this murder suicide.
We need to change the programming for our men and despite the insidious backlash of from the patriarchy about letting ‘boys be boys’ we need to get them early and counter these messages that glamorize violence and dehumanize women.

Imagine the abuse a man would have to go through to kill his wife and daughter.
Imagine years of the emotional abuse they would have heaped on him.
Why did the wife and daughter leave? There was no mention from the sons of violence. Was it perhaps the wife felt unfulfilled as 80% of divorce requests reveal?
What did those females do to push an average, affable and popular man to make him want to murder them?
Nobody questions the behaviour of the females. What if they drove him to do it? Would the victim not be the perfectly nice man who has had his life destroyed by his wife and daughter?
We need to look I to the causes of domestic violence and not the results of it

In a society that has civil rules and system, in my estimation, that thresh-hold doesn’t exist.
Your narrative sounds like you are trying to blame the victims for being murdered and that is some pretty messed up shit.

Male violence isn’t an issue of equality or any of the other egalitarian nonsense that is floating around – the simple truth is that men kill women at an appalling rate – and the notions and societal norms that support and condone that sort of shit behaviour need to be changed.

Great analysis once again. CaptainTrunch is clearly a misogynist that has the same disgusting beliefs as this worthless murderer. He is blaming the women for being murdered. Nothing they could say or do justifies any of this. People are allowed to get divorced, even if the reasons are weak or they simply feel “unfulfilled.” That isn’t even close to a justification for murder. If someone leaves you, you move on; you don’t kill them! And this pro-violence abuser, CT, wants to look at the causes of domestic violence? That one is easy — male entitlement and socialization. Duh! Of course he doesn’t want to look at the outcome. Dead women — nothing to see here! Nothing to demand accountability for!
