I was sick as a dog on January 21 when our nearby state capital city, Olympia, had a sister March. However, I don’t think I would’ve gone even if I had been healthy enough, since they had announced that they “didn’t want to be defined by Trump” and therefore wanted no anti-trump signs or messages. I’m sorry, I must be some sort of an idiot. I thought that was entirely the point!

That must be fun, enforcing an anti-pussy-hat rule. Do they ban all pink hats? All hats with ears?
Another example of how feminist organizing gets erased when intercalated with other sorts of activism, albeit an extreme one.

I’ve spent far too long reading the original thread on FB. Some great comments and some horrid ones.
Why, for a pro-Muslim march about a 120 day suspension, mention pussies, vaginas, and trans? Uh? Not relevant. Why even raise the issues to ban them?
But, 50% of Muslims are women, so womens’ issues are relevant. Go to the back of the queue girls. Plus ça change.
Transwhacks par excellence. Off to finish reading rest of comments.

Well if the concerns of dudes are not priority one, then obviously there is a problem.

“No no, let’s not offend the men-folk…*that* should be the priority.”
I love how some twit still takes a moment to try and link this to men. Haha! Are you serious? People who hate their own dicks are mad at the women who don’t have one, and you think this is somehow offending men? We’re all sitting back here laughing at what a COMPLETE F**KING JOKE their complaining (and their cause) is! To whomever wrote that comment above, enjoy your life of suck, loser!
On a more serious point, though, I think it’s HUGELY FUNNY that all these far, far left losers went seriously inbred on themselves and these p@ssyhat-gate promoters is what they’ve created. Nice work to y’all – a very ugly, whiny baby that for one thing doesn’t know what it is, and for another tries to make a pink, wool hat an issue, dwelling on it for days/weeks/years. Seriously, you got offended by a f-king pink wool hat, and moreso by those who wouldn’t take theirs off in order to protect your delicate sensitivities? Hahahahahahahahahahaha! So funny! If that’s true, and you did get “offended”, then I’ll use Bill Maher’s words and say that I hope you write a complaint to me so I can turn around and tell you to go f**k yourself. :)
The harder the far left tries (at anything), the harder I laugh. And where can I buy a bunch of those wool hats, now, anyways?? If it’s pissing these losers off that badly, I’ll even wear one. Is there an official website? I’ll buy 100.
As for the “my feelings got hurt by a bunch of pink wooly hats” people, and the “I wasn’t invited into the vagina party because I didn’t have one so now someone owes me something” people, F*CK YOUR FEELINGS. I say if you want a women’s group’s level of respect, or a BLM’s level of respect, or a gay rights group’s level of respect then go do what they did (for decades) to try and earn your own. Don’t co-opt or piggyback anyone else’s movement to try and cheat or short-cut your way in, because you’ll automatically lose the very thing you were demanding, which is respect.
Instead, start your own march, or go build your own float, or I don’t know – try knitting your own friggin hats. I know you’re useless, but can you at least try?
In the meantime, I like how progressives are now the ones having to listen to all these people to the left of them whine and cry like babies. It’s kind of liberating, ironically. But you deserve it, and the kind of losers you’re now fighting about hats over are exactly the kind you produce when far-left ideologies have sex, so enjoy. :)

@Vern
Hi Vern. I guess I am indeed enjoying my so called, ‘life of suck’ as you said. Now as shocked as I usually am when you fail to appreciate the nuance of a particular situation, please, as your gracious host allow me to slow this one down for you.
The situation described in the reblog is about the metastasizing male presence inside much of mainstream feminism. When men, who identify as women, begin speaking for (over) women, in a woman’s movement problems such as those illustrated above happen.
Their objection to the pussy-hats is that not all women have vaginas and thus wearing of said hats ostracizes and excludes trans-women (men). Liberal feminists in their desperate rush to please men and not be labelled terfy or transphobic cater to these men and still attempt to put forth a coherent feminist message, not realizing that if you happen to be pleasing men while doing your feminism, it is most likely your feminism is either a) wrong or b) ineffectual.
Radical feminists, and their allies, such as myself do not for an instant buy into the bullshit that is gender identity and the denial of science and the material reality of the situation. Biological sex is an immutable fact and concomitantly female biology is the basis of the oppression of females in society. Thus, it is frustrating to say the least when organizing for a woman’s march – the needs of men are centred instead of the needs of women, and really the reason for the march in this case – the anti-Muslim foolish enacted by the Small Handed Cheeto-King.
So, really I was referring to the men, through special indescribable gender-feels, that ‘identify’ as women and most certainly not individuals such as yourself. :) Although, full marks for on assuming it was all about you and posting a gloatingly querulous tirade based on your misapprehension of the issue at hand.
It is so troubling when we actually find common ground. :) But I do agree with you in this very particular instance. Their is plenty of room in the queer movement to adovocate for the goals of trans-ideology. The feminist movement and its goal of liberating women from patriarchy have nothing to do with the trans-activist platform.
Enough people are getting their fill of the post-modern, neo-liberal bullshit let me assure you. A move back toward class based analysis and action is fomenting, and all I can say is, that its about damn time.
Oh hey, could you refresh me on the book I’m supposed to take a look out, I’m doing an Amazon order soon and will add it to the list.

Hi Arb,
Thanks for clearing that first part up, such as me not realizing it was *your* comment. For the record, I don’t think you live in a world of suck – you have cool cats, for one thing. :)
As for the second part (the “full marks” part) you seem to assume that I assumed any of those comments were somehow towards me, perhaps getting defensive because I’m a male? Nope. To me, anyone so “offended” or finding pink wooly hats so “offensive” are for one not “men folk” and for another they’re far less “men folk” if they’re in fact trying to be “women folk”.
Cool on the agreeing part (“if you want the rights, put in the effort”…). Switch “rights” for “money”, though, and it moves awfully close to sounding like a capitalist statement, though, doesn’t it? ;) .
Enough people are getting their fill of the post-modern, neo-liberal bullshit let me assure you.
This is somewhat surprising to me, although that’s probably due to general apathy. I do see it, though, as mirror of the right in a lot of ways. Both are currently stuck contending with thin-skinned babies. ;)
Funny you should mention the book, and heading to Amazon. Amazon was open on my other tab before I got here, and I just remembered that I still have to grab your book on Vietnam.
From my end, my first suggestion for you will be a far lighter read than the one you had for me: Our Iceberg Is Melting by Kotter & Rathgeber. It’s actually a parable book (and the only parable book I happen to like for reasons I will explain after you’re through it). There’s lots of “Harvard” in it, but it’s a very quick book to get through yet a very good book on change that is applicable to nations, companies, … and even movements once you get to peeling back the layers.
