Who is attacking and who is winning are not connected per se. White men should be being attacked right now because of the power they have usurped at other’s expense and then abused.

That’s for sure Steve. And the big disconnect seems to be who gets the blame. The power class makes sure the traditional white groups with some privilege are feeling threatened by “others”. Corporate media promotes that narrative of discord between groups and the concerned but misdirected voters keep supporting the wealthy elite.

I’ve always found it peculiar that white American men don’t know just how much power they have, despite the fact that they have done everything to keep and maintain political power since America was founded. They can’t even stand the idea of a white woman president. Whenever a woman manages to get a word in edgewise about anything, they either ignore her, try to drown her out, or silence her in other ways.
For example, I’m sure there’s going to be someone whose going to post a comment directly after mine, they will be the same Bernie Bro that goes out of their way to deflect the conversation back to “manly matters” and ignore women’s experiences and oppression. Deny deny deny.

@Meg
It may be easier to be ignorant of the privileges bestowed upon them by their social position and race. If things just ‘seem to happen’ analysis of society, class, and race don’t need to happen.
Feminist and class analysis are not priorities for many of the inhabitants of the status quo, and really, why should they be. The water is warm and things are ‘fine’. :/
