Essential reading for women and men. Catch the .pdf here.
*Note for those without adblockers, the actual download link is small, almost covered by a large spam link. Be wary of this subterfuge while getting the .pdf. (Many thanks to JJshaw for pointing this out)

Looks tooo toooo complicated to sign up. But natch, regarding male violence, lets just obliterate women, who in the course of history have never suffered from male violence. How to silence the victims, because even in male-to-male violence, there is inevitably a woman somewhere, suffering, or picking up the pieces. Yeah, menz rule.

Out of context I can see how that would be offensive. In context, what he’s saying is that when he talks about a person engaging in threatening or violent behavior, he’s going to say “he”.

I’m thinking that its okay if a few dudes are offended by the historical/cultural reality of the situation. :)

The big “Download” button is a trick advertisement.
There is a small one above it that says “Download (pdf, 1.02 MB)” that does work.

I’m already on page twenty-one. Some of the wording sounds a little new-agey/self-helpy but so far, so good.

This slice of reality is paradoxically (heh, not really) controversial for men’s righters who are eager to evoke biology and evol-psych and “facts,” just not when it comes to violence as being a predominantly male phenomenon.
Who you even have the possibility to be starts at conception. If you think genes don’t affect how people behave, consider this fact: if you are a carrier of a particular set of genes, the probability that you will commit a violent crime is four times as high as it would be if you lacked those genes. You’re three times as likely to commit robbery, five times as likely to commit aggravated assault, eight times as likely to be arrested for murder, and 13 times as likely to be arrested for a sexual offense. The overwhelming majority of prisoners carry these genes; 98.1 percent of death-row inmates do. These statistics alone indicate that we cannot presume that everyone is coming to the table equally equipped in terms of drives and behaviors.
(…) as regards that dangerous set of genes, you’ve probably heard of them. They are summarized as the Y chromosome. If you’re a carrier, we call you a male.

You’re welcome.
What do you mean by “Nice Blaming”?

Oh, it is terminology used by a particular subset of radical feminists. The folks over at I Blame the Patriarchy.
Blaming is the act of identifying a particular subset of patriarchal oppression and talking/deconstructing/evaluating/rallying on/ranting/etc about it.
IBTP is a bastion of radical feminist thought on the internet. Unfortunately the host has not been posting very much in the last couple of years.
I’ve seen your commentary on other blogs, and given the tenor of your positions and arguments I assumed you would be familiar with IBTP.
Sorry about that. :/

Thanks, TA! Even though I’m a feminist (cuz duh), I’m not very familiar with the feminist theory and developments in the field.
Wasn’t sure if that “blaming” was straight or ironic, and what it meant, especially when accompanied with “nice.”
BTW, Eagleman does the opposite of blaming, as he re-assesses our concepts of responsibility, legal and not, in light of genetics and neuroscience. However, when I quoted that particular fragment and article on various discussion sites, I’d invariably receive accusations of misandry, mostly from MRA but also from some feminists who’d rush to point out that “not all men.” Rattling off the crime stats and their stark gender implications is construed as misandry by some folks, so I wasn’t sure if “nice blaming” wasn’t par for that course.

I hereby officially and profusely thank you for telling me about IBTP blog, TA.
This is a humongous revelation to me (yes, I’ve lived under a rock). Suddenly life makes sense.
Well, alright, it is a slight exaggeration. My life still does not make all that much sense, but it is greatly enriched by reading Twisty’s brilliant, incisive, and snarkylicious thoughts on womaning in patriarchy.
I’m devouring her blog, and nicely (!) blaming you for it.
I had no idea I was a radical feminist. Born that way, in fact. (Yes, under the rock. Long story.)
Things we learn, even in old age.
Thank you. :)
