Yet I still hear people everday proclaiming that we are ‘done’ with feminism and that ‘for all intensive purposes’ the sexes are treated equally in society.
Horsefeathers to those notions, I say.

It drives me batty that they cannot even get the inaccurate phrase correct: ” for all INTENTS and purposes”, damn it!

I think it may come from how more women tend to have more focus on style than men. If you ask male athletes that have more focus on their style to give a twirl, I’m sure they’d be game!
Now if we’re talking about expectations on genders to be stylish or not stylish, then we are getting into the sexism.

It’s how evolution has rolled!
Just think of all the poor male birds that have to deal with the same sort of thing. They have such higher beauty expectations upon them in comparison to their female counterparts ;)
