I’ve read some of this guys comments on other websites and on his blog. It appears to me that he needs to worship something. He indeed had an interesting deconversion journey. Also wanted to note that what he shared at the end, when he thought he was Jesus is indicative of a neurological disorder.
“As many as 60% of those with schizophrenia have religious grandiose delusions consisting of believing they are a saint, God, the devil, a prophet, Jesus, or some other important person.”

Believing in the Santa Claus for Adults doesn’t strike me as neuro-typical behaviour. :)
*sigh*
Actually it is though. But not balancing what you believe with reality where the problem starts.

“But not balancing what you believe with reality where the problem starts.”
I agree. And he made some good points in the video. But no all that glitters is gold. Reading some of his comments from blog posts tainted my view of his perception of reality.

@ Arb — you might want to read his “Why I’m Not A Feminist” post — and especially his comments.

Why do seemingly educated dudes take it upon themselves to so amazingly misrepresent feminism? It’s almost like they don’t want to share their throne in society or something….

Yep. I am reminded of a quote:
“Man, born of woman, has found it a hard thing to forgive her for giving him birth. The patriarchal protest against the ancient matriarch has borne strange fruit through the years.” ~Lillian Smith

Sigh, I know. And while he may think he’s free from his past indoctrination — he more transparent that he realizes.
Margaret Daphne Hampson, a British theologian and former Christian, who earned a doctorate in modern history at Oxford, and a doctorate in theology at Harvard wrote:
“I began to see that the very raison d’etre of the Christian myth was to support men as superior over women, that it served to legitimize how men see themselves in the world.
It is a brilliant, subtle, elaborate, male cultural projection, calculated to legitimize a patriarchal world and to enable men to find their way within it. We need to see it for what it is.
The circumstances of that past age are propelled into the present, influencing people, not least, at a subconscious level.”

@ both NN and Arb.
NN – trust you to find an annoying anti-fem post to distract me from my editing.
He’s a half-arsed idiot who has no conception of what he is talking about. Some of his commenters are similar, although there were a few decent ones. But really, this crap about oppressed men, and women gaining advantages and all we need is gender equality is just tosh. (I’m in a polite mood today).
