Wow. Just, wow. Although bordered with Venezuela we don’t get any News at night about it. But Brazilian News is that one level below ridiculous.
He mentions the fireworks called Bin Ladens. We have them here in Brazil, but they’re just called Bin Ladens, and they’re horrible things. Frighten the crap out of animals.

I’m keeping my ear to the ground on this one, so many events are happening right now its hard to keep straight the geo-political ramifications of what is happening. What I have seen in the case of Venezuela (and Ukraine) is that much of the official stories/reporting is absolute bullocks.
I’m not sure if gleaning stories from the margins is much better, but at least one can avoid the quagmire that is american exceptionalism narrative .

It is sad to see Venezuela collapse like this. So much wealth, so much going for it, yet being driven to such unnecessary depths. Argentina is collapsing (again), too… and Brazil is being mismanaged to such a degree that if Dilma wins the election this year (which is looking likely) there could be a serious mess unfolding.
And such is the story of the politics of popularism.
