Who could ask for anything more. A great beach, a good discotheque and an opportunity for martyrdom for the win!
Over a million tourists from around the world visit Sousse, Tunisia every year. And, while the coastal city boasts pristine beaches and world class hotels, recently, hordes of local young men have been leaving fun and sun behind them in favor of joining ISIS in Syria.

The interrelated nature of the Middle East is on display here. Nations like Saudi Arabia have very deep pockets and inclinations to support radical causes.

The brain washing is real. Have you heard about these Austrian girls?
http://nypost.com/2014/10/10/pregnant-teen-girls-who-joined-isis-weve-made-a-huge-mistake/
I find it amazing how the Islamic State has been so successful in recruiting middle to upper class young adults from developed nations. It’s incredible really. To me, going to a third world nation and fighting a war would be the last thing in the world that I would want to do and it would have been the furthest thing from my mind when I was 16. I guess it’s just one more thing about this world that I will never understand.

No, I had not heard of that story. Brutal.
I think the story you linked to highlights how insidious religious thought can be. Quote for consideration – \
The teens apparently were lured to ISIS by propaganda preached at their local mosque.
Yah, sooooooo… finding true peace by going to a war zone, becoming impregnated and being a propaganda bastion for ISIS. Religion has cloaked the bitter pill of geopolitical reality with some nice words, and an appeal to the beardy-head sky-fairy. More than enough to bamboozle children.
I think I need a religious advocate to tell me again how their magic stories are not, in fact, toxic and detrimental to civilized society.
