A couple nights ago I was wading about the web, waiting for sleepiness to find me when I came across this video. It exhibits the most beautiful project I’ve seen to in a very long time.
On the surface, it is a colossal exercise of empathy and caring for those in desperate need of support. On top of that, and I think much more important, is the awareness it must spread to the community. The bridge highlights a problem and inspires people to think about it, identify with sufferers, and help in preventative measures. It’s a wonderful thing.

What a great idea. It’s so sad – all people really want is some connection or voice to let them know they’re human, fragile, and wanted. Thanks for the post :)

That actually made me cry a bit… OMG… Also, did you know that Tokyo has done similar things that have had an impact on suicide rates… Why aren’t we doing this sort of stuff in America. And you are quite right, Notes. I think if we get smarter about how we treat our world we can do this in more and more places. I think there are real ways in which we can improve the lives of so many just by thinking about what we can do to help, not control people, and in ways that are unconventional.

I wasn’t aware of that this concept was being duplicated in other cities. I do agree it is something worth doing.
You’ll have to forgive Mystro for not replying directly, but he has taken off to south-east asia for a spell and thus, I am left to humbly curate his posts. :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment. :)
Urban life in large centers can be so dehumanizing, it is nice to see people helping people out however they can.

I also got pretty choked up the first couple times I watched it. I’m thrilled that similar projects are happening elsewhere. Thanks for sharing.
