@JZ
People employed by payed for via the government. I’m assuming. There is a caveat here, many of the coaches are payed their salaries as result of the huge dollars their sports teams bring in.
I overlooked how sport infatuated many Americans actually are and was coming from the angle that their pubic purse is being misused to pay coaches obscenely high salaries. I thought (wrongly) that their university sports were similar to those up here in Canada (where universities primarily are for learning, as opposed to chasing a rubber ball about).
So despite my oversight, the infographic remains appalling just for different reasons. :)

Wasn’t that map a special kick in the pants? I am, of course, ever unpopular due to insisting sports should be extracurricular and paid for by bake sales….not major bits of the budget.

But how would we get kids to learn the spirit of competition if they are not actively competing against each other and making each other bleed?

Oh, not to worry, plenty of time for THAT kind of play when they can’t find jobs and are forced to join the military for a monthly paycheck.

As a Quebecois, I liked that there was a hockey coach up there. In general, the New England results seemed somewhat more sane, although I am a staunch socialist.
