This is the conclusion to a great article found on Practical Doubt.
“Hidden beneath the inclusive guise of Christianity exists the absurd notion that people are capable of understanding the depth of humanity through the eyes of faith. They engage this masturbatory exercise without the slightest comprehension of words like love, mercy, justice, and morality. I cannot think of anything more detrimental to the progress of human beings.
That our understanding of reality comes from a deluded perception, one that is completely irrespective of reality and the behavior of others. Inside of this vacuum allegedly exists the answers to all of life, and yet a war veteran that had seen more atrocities than any human being should experience in such a short life span, refused to accept a supposedly ordained child of God.
If that isn’t proof for the lack of a creator, then I’m not sure what is.”

WTF
I don’t understand your rationale. Just because human beings have failures, God doesn’t exist? wtf?

Many forget, or refuse to realize that people are not alike in their thinking
as well as their appearance. Also, that God, according to His Word, gave
over control of this Universal Dimension (WORLD) to a personage called
Satan, when humans chose to believe Satan’s lies, rather than their own
Creator – (By either immediacy,or evolution) -makes little difference!
So, and evil being controls activity in The World for the present. People
are continually given a choice to be righteous , or not, and if one’s mind
is conformed to corruption, destruction, and perceptions harmful to
others in those other’s personal view, then that sort of conformation will
result in bigotry, jealousy, bodily harm, and all the destructive evils one
can imagine.
God does exist, but He does not control us, for the simple reason that
we are created in HIs Image; bodily (Like Jesus Christ), Mentally, like to
God Himself (Our brains in ultimate form, can outthink the computers that
we thought up), And Spiritually, like the best of our “Dreamers”) -Artists
and composers, and innovators of all genre!
To All, with lots of Love, Fritz-Lorenz

Err. Okay.
I’m down with the appearance idea, but when it comes to thinking it isn’t quite as cut and dried. One’s thinking can either be closer to reality or farther away from it. Most of religious ways of looking at the world are farther away from reality and thus are not as useful, or valuable to society. We can say that we came to being through evolution over millions of years and here is the evidence to prove it, or say this magic dude in the sky put us here about 6000 years ago, why, because this magic book says so.
If rationality and reality are important to your world view, then clearly the former is your choice rather than the latter.
Citation needed.
And your proof for that is?
Not thinking for yourself and trusting in sky-daddies and magic books tends to make evil a lot more possible than a careful reasoned analysis of your place in the world.
Thanks for stopping by. :)
