Like the present day John Steward, George Carlin makes (made) radically anti-establishment pronouncements. Carlin was a comedian after all and no one listens to comedians…
More people need to listen and act on the ideas of our so called comedians of the day.

“Carlin was a comedian after all and no one listens to comedians…” Taking the true point of what you’re saying here, Arb, we might have found the other thing that you and I completely agree on! (What was the first one, again? haha!)
I recently posted a clip from Louis C.K. on my blog for similar reasons. Comedians have the best way of exposing us to our own naivety, ignorance, and stupidity and there’s often a lot of “common sense” in what they say (I know, that sort of sense is not very common…) Much different than some actor or singer speaking out on an issue in trying to raise awareness (and dollars), comedians get us thinking about the issue in a more critical and self-reflective way, I think.
Carlin was, and still is, great. Check out his rant on abortion if you haven’t yet. He makes some very strong points in a very simple, straightforward, and yet humourous way.

Two issues we agree on? What the crap? :)
I find the absence of acrimonious debate disturbing.

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll see if I can find it on youtube.
