Rick Perry is delusional. What is worse, he is propagating and magnifying his own personal stupid beliefs and inflicting them on the people of America. When faux news steps up and starts supporting your cause, that should be the first indicator that you have left the land of the rational and now are mired in the magical bullshite sands of religious indoctrination.
Texas and a good portion of the southwestern US is being baked into submission due to the changing climate. When the desert is licking at your front doorstop, I think then the idea that we are having a negative effect on our biosphere might sink in. Then again, maybe just another prayer rally will make things all better.

Rick Perry is, according to the New York Times’ David Brooks, the odds-on favourite to take the GOP nomination. Apparently he actually leads Obama in recent polls. Brooks says Perry is popular with what he calls “alternate reality Republicans” but the others will also back him because 1-he returns favours and 2-he might beat Obama. In other words, Perry’s radicalism might not be an insurmountable hurdle. The first few primaries should reveal whether Romney is toast.

One other thing, the Texas drought. It was reported this week that some Texas power plants may run out of freshwater if the drought doesn’t break by this fall. No water means no ability to turn fossil fuel heat into steam that means no electricity in a state where life depends on air conditioning and refrigeration. Help me Jeebus, take the wheel!

No.1 to take the nomination? Talk about things that make the stomach churn. Of course, with a outright theocracy established in the whitehouse maybe America might ‘wake up’ and see what kind of insane they elected. I say the previous with a good deal of optimism as people who are blasted by propaganda and bullshite constantly usually do not learn until it is much too late.

I think we should take some time and further marginalize climate science and heck, even scientists in general. It has worked so well so far, we should also not fix our economic viewpoints to include environmental externalities either as it just made up of silly egg-head lies and liberal values.
I do love short term thinking, it does wonders for society and our prospects as a species. On further reflection, we might need two prayer rallies to save Texas’s power plants, not even god can resist two prayer rallies.
